Notre Histoire

The white bath

A maison de hammam in the heart of Guéliz — five minutes from the medina, a world away from its noise.

An ancient ceremony, kept whole

Le Bain Blanc keeps the hammam as Morocco has always known it — a place of warmth, water and quiet renewal. Long before the spa, there was the bath: a weekly rite of steam and stone where the city washed away more than dust.

Our practitioners perform each gesture as it was taught to them — without hurry, without noise. The savon noir is worked in by hand, the kessa drawn in long, patient strokes, the rhassoul mixed fresh for every guest. Nothing here is rushed, because nothing about the hammam ever was.

The Ritual

How a visit unfolds

  1. Arrival

A glass of mint tea in the salon while your chamber warms.

  2. Steam

Deep, fragrant vapour opens the skin and slows the breath.

  3. Savon noir

Beldi black soap, worked in by hand and left to soften.

  4. Kessa

The glove. Long strokes lift away what the week left behind.

  5. Rest

Rose water, warm marble, and as much quiet as you wish.

From the Source

Every jar has a valley

Every oil, clay and soap in the house is Moroccan. Argan oil is first-press, from the Atlas. Rhassoul clay comes from the Moulouya valley, where it has been quarried for a thousand years. Our rose water is distilled in Kelaat M'Gouna, the valley of roses.

We buy from the people who make them, and we will happily tell you exactly where each one was born.
